Alumni Affairs

When new alumni director Anna Kappelhoff reunites her friends for a reunion performance she’s not surprised to encounter battling divas, she just never expected to become one of them.

Headliner Denny Walters, a comedian who found fame in a sleeper movie, may be losing his grip on reality but not his ability to provoke Laura Carper Wilson, a real estate agent whose ambitions exceed the limited charms of bucolic Bluff View, Wisconsin. While Sheila Harris dearly loves her children, she hasn’t seen her waist in five years and misses performing for an audience that can fully appreciate her slumbering talents – if only she could wake up enough to learn the choreography.

Anna tries to curtail Denny’s erratic zeal, anticipate Laura’s backstabbing, and appreciate Sheila’s earth mother moments as she evades the micro-managing of her boss, Erik-the-Evil-Nordic-Prince, and rewards herself with thoughts of her fledgling romance with board member Dr. Stephen Grunewald.

The disappearance of a valuable painting sends the college into campus chaos. Anna finds herself uniquely qualified to search for answers, aided by cryptic guidance from a former professor and the lurking presence of her landlord and colleague, Ted Sorenson, who may have more on his agenda than irritating her with his steady smirk and dubious carpentry skills.
